Living with a Vizsla Staff

Personality: Very playful and charismatic. Very much so a charmer. Very smart.

Temperament: Gentle and patient. Can get along very well with other animals and small children if exposed at an early age. Very social.

Family Dog: Very much so a family dog due to its loyalty and compassion it does well with families.

Shedding: Moderate amount of shedding.

Grooming: Brushing 2 times a week seems to be sufficient for this breed. Can also seemingly brush away normal doggy odor.

Training: Fairly easy to train due to the dog wanting to please owner.

Barking: Minimal barking but very easily trained not to bark.

Weather: Any weather will do because it loves being outside.

Exercise: Loves running and needs exercise a couple times a day.

Physical Ability: Loves running, jumping and seems to like to pull things(i.e., carts, sleds).

Living Conditions: Can live well in an apartment with sufficient exercise.

Vizsla Staff Appearance

Size: Approx. 20" tall in females and 40-50 lbs.

Companionship: Very loyal and family oriented.

Head: Solid head with medium sized muzzle.

Eyes: Dark brown or golden in color

Ears: Ears tend to be a little on the floppy side but can also be erect.

Body: Long body with long legs, solidly built with solid chest.

Feet: Can have slight webbing on the feet

Tail: Long tail and very strong.

Color: Color varies with dog. Typical Am. Staff colors are commonly seen.

Coat: Short, wiry coat with some, not excessive shedding.
