Our Buddy Lou
My husband and I adopted Buddy Lou (formerly known as Russel) from a shelter in CT three years ago. The shelter said he was 2 years old, but it turned out he was actually closer to 4. The first year was really difficult- he'd been abused for nearly a year so he had trust issues. My husband and I have scars from that first year, but we were determined to keep him.
Thanks to some help from our vet and some doggie prozac, two years later Buddy Lou is the best dog you could ask for. He's unbelievably intelligent, fun, playful and protective. He hates the cold and is a total snuggle-bug in the winter. He'll do anything for a snack or a ride in the car. I wouldn't trade him for anything! I adopted my Borgi from a local animal shelter. I really had no idea what I was getting myself into... but it was well worth it.
As a pup, my borgi was not exactly an angel. However, collies do have a reputation for being horrible puppies so it is something that they do grow out of. I've never had such a smart and loving dog in my entire life. My adopted borgi is a little sassy but listens very well, even if he 'talks back'. Training was EASY! Somethings came very naturally to him and he always has what seems like fun learning something new. The ONLY problem I have with him is his little neopleoan complex towards other dogs. I am unable to take him to the local dog park just because he always starts little fights. A border collie owner told me that border collies don't always do great in settings with lots of other dogs. Aside from that.... no problems! I've never had a dog with such a big personality! THe website is also right... he loves car rides, and just a great dog in general. Moxie is 3.5 yrs and I have had him since he was 10 weeks old. He is 12 lbs, brownish red coat that grows slowly but is course and slightly curly. He looks like he has painted toes as they are the only white on him. He gets along with our greyhound, everyone who comes into our home and enjoys harassing our 3 cats.

I have a golden pyrenees and he's almost 8 months old and weighs in at a good 80 pounds. He is extremely sweet and very social. He loves to play and he loves swimming in the river close by. It's amazing what he can chew with those incredible teeth. He doesn't realize how big he is and always plops himself on my lap. He's also very affectionate. I am so pleased with having chose this breed of dog. He's very smart and learns very quickly, although he does have that streak of stubborn. He's beautiful and very loved.

Our Bernefie is six months old, trained beautifully and is a wonderful little lady! Her momma was 1/2 Berner 1/2 Newfie, and Daddy was a pure Berner. Excellent temperment, wonderful with other dogs of all ages and sizes. Good with 1 year olds, 3 year olds and will tolerate the smothering little ones give her.
