Golden Pyrenees

My golden pyrenees is probably the friendliest dog ever. In fact the main issue in training her was teaching her to contain her excitement when greeting people.

Great breed

I have a golden pyrenees and he's almost 8 months old and weighs in at a good 80 pounds. He is extremely sweet and very social. He loves to play and he loves swimming in the river close by. It's amazing what he can chew with those incredible teeth. He doesn't realize how big he is and always plops himself on my lap. He's also very affectionate. I am so pleased with having chose this breed of dog. He's very smart and learns very quickly, although he does have that streak of stubborn. He's beautiful and very loved.

Breathtakingly Gorgeous

Wendy was dumped at 5 mos. old and rescued by a lady driving by the site where so many people dump dogs they don't want. Wendy is the companion to my year old lab, also a rescue. Together, they are a joy--entertaining, funny, so affectionate. At 9 mos., Wendy weighs in at sixty pounds. Wavy, silky hair, white on top, a golden undercoat. Sweet, calm, good watchdog. When barking is a problem, I put her leash on and keep her sitting by my chair. Soon, she's asleep. Golden Pyr is a fabulous animal--my 18 year old son calls her his real life teddy bear!

Our Golden Pyrenees

We own a Golden Pyrenees named Sadie. she is now 5 months old and has stolen our hearts. She loves to play, but likes frequent naps as well. She is a very happy girl. She definatley has the stubborn streak from the pyrenees. she is easy to train but it has to be on her terms. She will fetch and actually enjoys, as long as it is on her terms. She loves our children but can get a little carried away at times and knock them over but we are working on that. If you are looking for a dog that does not shed this is not the dog for you. We brush Sadie daily and she still sheds A LOT. She really enjoys playing with other dogs. I would definatley recommend a training class as that has helped us a lot with Sadie. We do have her on a wireless fence whcih she has does very well with and will not attemo to leave the yard even without the collar on, but it did take some work. Sadie does not meet any strangers she loves to greet the neighbors. She is actually not much of a barker but will bark if she feel threatend. Sadie has been a wonderful addition to our family and we are look forward to many more years enjoying her company.

The BEST!!

We had a golden pyrenees male dog for 13 years until his passing in July 2009. He was the best dog you could ask for. Smart, easy to train, great with people as well as other dogs. At the same time, he was a great watchdog with a loud bark that would make strangers think twice before entering our home. He was fiercely protective of our 3 daughters, and unfailingly patient. We house broke him in about a week. He was a very active puppy, however, and liked to chew wood. If left unattended, he would eat anything not nailed down. We did crate train him, which worked wonders, and we were able to un-crate him at only 8 months old. Barley was the most perfect dog you could ask for.
