He has bad skin allergies and recently he has had some traumatic visits to the vet having his ears flushed. Poor baby. We had to muzzle him for the first time in his life. He opened his mouth and rested it on the techs hand as to say "ok enough is enough", so we took the warning. It took 5 to hold him while they did this to him. I felt horrible. But all is doing well and he is doing so much better have 3 meds, medicated shampoo and ear meds. I don't know how many of you have pets with skin problems but it can get bad quickly. The itching and chewing. He is sleeping through the night now and now scratching or chewing. But this like everything started when he was about a year old and has progressed as he has gotten old and will never go away and it will get worse. So what used to be an occasional visit and some meds for a short while has now gotten to be an all the time med taking thing. But as with your children you will do what it takes to make them better. Because they are "a member of the family". There is nothing we wouldn't do for a member of our family. He is doing well and I am very happy. I would love to hear from others about their pets with skin allergies and what they have found out about it. Roo Roo's is environmental so there is no escaping it for him, but I will stay on top of it for him so that he is comfortable and happy and as healthy as can be with this problem.
