Love my Chiweenie

I got my Chiweenie almost a year ago from a family that couldn't keep her. Bella has turned out to be the best little dog a person could ask for! I didn't think I'd like a little dog but wow was I wrong. She's a happy healthy little girl. She is a couch potato most the time but she has her moments off and on during the day where she loves to play. I would have to the say the information on this site about Chiweenie's are very accurate.

Little Baby

My little snowball is half Long hair Chihuhua and half Japanese Chin. He's absolutely precious and adorable. He was all white when I got him at 8 weeks but is now white and red/brown. He is now 8 months weighs 4 1/2lbs and he looks more Japanese chin than he does chihuahua. It is just that he does not have the plummed tail. He is very smart, playful, and alert. He has attachments issues and cannot be left in a room by himself. He whines and barks when he's alone. This is the only bad side to him. My pomeranian just ignores him when he does this (everything about her is perfect).

Our Silky Tzu

I bought a Shih Tzu X Silky Terrier when he was a 3 month old puppy. He was very shy and timid at first. However, he is now a one year old and has become quite dominant at home. He has the 'squashed nose' and coat of a shih tzu but the colour of his hair is that of the Silky Terrier. He is the most loyal dog in the world. He is great with children. However, been a Silky terrier cross he can be quite agressive towards strangers and other dogs. He loves cats and seems to be more interested in those than other dogs. He has a great sense of humour and is very intelligent. He is a house dog and therefore, has bonded really well with everyone in the house. He can be stubborn, moody and an attention seeker. He loves to play alot. Whenever I'm sick he seems to sense this and guards me while I sleep. I have found Shih Tzu x Silky's would be perfect for a couple or a small family that can accomodate their need for attention. Their coat however, is VERY high maintenance. It does require brushing, especially when it gets quite long and they like to dig and play in the yard. Alot of prickles and sticks get caught in the fur. Shih Tzu's are prone to respiratory problems and I have found my dog has a very sensitive stomach. Best to never feed this dog 'human' meals or leftovers, only dog or cat food. They can form bad habits if not disciplined straight away and this can be hard to break. Overall, a very beautiful, loving, loyal, intelligent companion. He is a very affectionate, funny dog that doesnt require alot of exercise. Simply running around the backyard is enough to keep him healthy.

Lucy the Boston Malterrier

Lucy is our new Boston Malterrier puppy, born April 27th, 2009. She was born by cesarean since her mother is the Maltese. Lucy has been absolutely perfect in every way. She's smart, obedient, playful, and cute as heck! While I'd never heard of this mix, and she ended up with us by accident, I couldn't have picked a better mix than this.

Laney the Dalmador

I have a 1 year old Dalmador, Laney, and she is a wonderful dog! I got her as a rescue. She is mostly white on her body except for one big black circle on her back and one eye is black and the other is white! She is a great watch-dog, is wonderful with my 5 month old son, and is very playful and protective. I did catch her the other day chewing on my shoe though! I would recommend this breed to someone like me, who doesn't want a little yappy dog, but doesn't have a lot of space for a real big dog either. She is a good medium size, about 50 pounds. She is also good with my cats, they don't like her too much, but she really wants to be their friend!

Tilly

Tilly's mother was a purebred Basset Hound, dad was a purebred Golden Retriever. Tilly weighs a fit 42 lbs with a friendly temperament. She is usually obedient, but has a tendency to chase rabbits and squirrels - occasionally catching a young one. She loves to run and play fetch, and is surprisingly fast considering she has her mother's short legs. She is very strong for a dog of her weight. She loves to play with other dogs and with kids. Though not used in hunting, she can scent and retrieve. She is an all around great family dog.
