Brought home our new Cockalier puppy!

by aaemehan on 4/17/2009 at 7:40 AM in New Puppy

Yesterday was an exciting day for my husband, son, and I. We drove four hundred miles to get the newest addition to our family. Her name is Lady, She is a cute little puppy, which I'll post a picture of as soon as I get some batteries for my camara. Last night was a rough night for everyone, being little Lady cried all night, it was heart wrenching to listen to and I got up probably three times or more in the night to comfort her. My husband told me that I was going to spoil her, but what are mom's for?? Anyways she has been sleeping in my arms all morning except for when she was chasing my four year old around nipping at his butt, it was hilarious. I think little Lady is going to fit in wth our family perfect!!

Snippage X's 2 continued....

by elvisandmojo on 4/15/2009 at 7:14 AM in Progress

I picked up the boys last night at 7:30 p.m. and both were still groggy from the surgery. Got them home and carried them up the stairs (one at a time of course) and they went right to bed with eyes still rolling around from being exhausted. I'm sure it was a long day for them as well.

Bob told me they were up around 2:30 a.m. which I was surprised to hear as I had given them their pain meds shortly after putting them in their crates. Up again at 5:30 this morning and raring to go. I couldn't believe it.

Doctor's orders are to limit their activity for 10 days, no baths for 2 weeks so I had to write this down on the calendar. They are not thrilled with Mama as I have only been letting them out of the crates for short periods of time until they get a little wound up and then it is time for rest.

Elvis figured out how to open the crate to free his brother this morning as well. I guess I didn't have the latch pushed in the down position and he somehow got the door to open. Let's hope he doesn't turn into a Houdini on me.

They were doing the stairs fine this morning but were whimpering quite a bit afterwards. Seeing how hubby is recovering from an emergency appendectomy still I told him to just go ahead and let them do the stairs by themselves. They can rest after potty breaks.

Some licking but we are working on stopping that as soon as we notice. Since the laser surgery was done we are hoping for quick healing.
