Brothers suck...

... I have this little (bigger) brother and he is obnoxious. He eats everything (including the couch while Mom and Dad were honeymooning). He's a suck up. And if you see his blogs on here, don't believe a word he types. Well, unless he's commenting on his lack of brain. That's pretty accurate.

Me? I'm the smart, calm, one. Normal lab size but enough hair to make two or three dogs, and I have a beautiful curly tail. And, yes, I'm a total momma's girl. She loves me *happy dog sigh*. Mom brought me home when I was about 12 weeks old and my sis dog (rip Baby) was the best sister a girl could have. Mom named me Panzie for the tough little flower, the Panzer tank, and cuz I'm a bit of a chicken. I have a long nick name though. Pamma-Lamma-Ding-Dong. As in "ohh, ee, ohh, ah, ah, ching chong, Pamma Lamma Ding Dong". Yep, my mom is weird.

Before Mom, I was an outside puppy and it was hard to live in the house. I'm glad I do now, cuz Mom lets me sleep on the bed after she and Dad are up. But Smothers Brothers Blubbers Puppers isn't allowed! Hee-hee!

I'm 6 and a half and anything "he" can do I can do better and with less drool. So, Mom is going to harness train me too. My brother is brawn, but I'm the brains so I'll get lead dog spot. I love snow, (hate water!) so winter should be fun this year. We'll go sledding at Pioneers Park and Bro and I will help pull the kids back up the hill.

Mom says she's going to have us help with the grocery shopping. I hope that means I get to choose the steaks! Oh, no, I bet this has to do with the dog-cart. I'll be pulling the groceries home. It's about five blocks and since Berners can pull a ton, I can pull my share and the little bit we'll carry will be a breeze.

I'm the serious dog, Bro is the clown. But I love him. He's always ready to wrestle, and he taught me how to play tug of war.

We have a cat too, and Mom says "kiss the kitty!" but the cat doesn't like it. I don't know why, he slobbers all over himself. I can just do it faster. He does leave great snacks in the box downstairs. And for some reason, Mom doesn't like that. She'd rather waste it by putting it in the trash! Humans! Can live with them and can't go for car rides without em.

Oh, well... More about me later.

Thanks for reading, hope you get a good walk today!

Cothers Says..Getting Noo..Nue..Neu...Fixed Sucks

Mom says I have to wear this lampshade for another week!

ARG! I look stooooopid! but, I kept messing with my owwie until I got a bigger owwie and now I look like a cheap drunk at a kegger party.

I'm growing well though! About 120 lbs now, and 20 to go. Sis-dog and I are still great pals, but she doesn't like my lampshade either, we can't play together much right now.

Let's see, I learned how to walk on a leash and fetch and how to carry my water bucket around and how to keep kids sitting on the couch (they can't get up if you sit on them!) and Mom and Dad love me.

When Mom takes me to school to pick up my boy, everyone is amazed that I'm so big, but Mom just tells them my size compensates for my brain...whatever that means....

Snow is tons of fun! I love playing with Panzie Sis-Dog and getting all white. She likes it too! Maybe she's part Berner...

Anyhow, Mom said she'd take me for a walk, so I gotta go!

Thanks for readin'!

Crothers Says

Hi!

I'm Crothers, as in "Scatman" but I don't know any jazz. I'm full of life though, maybe because I'm still a baby. Mom says I'm a handsome boy, whatever that means. I'm sable and white, with raccoon eyes and droopy ears and lips. Sis-dog says Mom put mascara on my eyes to give me the black mask, so I'd be ready for Halloween. Personally, I think she's adopted and jealous.

Mom and Dad say I'm gonna eat them out of house and home. I've tried to take up eating the trash so they don't have to spend as much on dog food. But, coffee grounds are gross, and the plastic baggy didn't sit too well. So, I eat all the kibble I can find and visit the cat-box snack bar when they aren't looking. I can't help it, I'm an ado...adolesc... a teenager and I'm growing!

Yeah, I'm big, I'm bad... 80 lbs of slobbery puppy love, baby! Okay, so I'm not quite an ado..adolesc...a teenager, but I'm close! Only 6 and a half months left til my first birthday. I love being bigger than Sis-dog, I can push her around even though she's older (and faster and smarter) than I am. We play together all the time, even though our parents are always in the way in the living room and they take up space on our couch.

I come from a rich heritage of brandy carrying, snow loving dogs who rescue people from avalanches and pull small carts and sleds. I'm not training for the pulling yet, Mom says I'm too young, that my bones aren't done growing yet. But maybe next winter I can play around in a harness! My parents are Swiss, but my dad is part mountain dog. I'm mostly St. Bernard, but just a little bit Bernese Mountain Dog. I think I'll love winter!

Well, thanks for reading about me. If you know any other St. Berners, I'd love to hear about them. My sis-dog says she's going to post on her heritage too, so watch for Panzie's "hi".

Owner Testimonials

Crothers

We purchased our St. St. Berner (7/8 St. Bernard, 1/8 Bernese Mntn. Dog) June 2008. At five and a half months,(Oct 2008) he weighs over 75 lbs (lean, not fat). He is gentle with our cats (3) our kids (6, 4 of which are 7 or under) and our other dog (5 yo. f. Akita/Lab)and easy to train though a bit over eager to please. He is extremely friendly with strangers and loves water.

He learned "sit, down, dead dog, and shake" with no trouble and loves tug-of-war and fetch, is incredibly soft-mouthed, and like most big dogs, clumsy. House-trained early and easily.

Looks like a St. Bernard without the white neck collar, nearly pure sable, black mask, white paws and blaze. Soft coat, tons of drool, and Crothers (think Scatman Crothers) likes to drink out of the bathroom sink.

Awesome disposition, open and interested in everyone and happy. Well-loved by his whole family, and recommended by his mom. If you have a decent sized yard, and can train with love and treats, a St. Berner makes a fabulous family pet.
