Newfie Adventures
I know he's only 1/2 Newfie, but his sheer size and personality sometimes makes me forget that there's lab at all in that big, beautiful, clumsy body. Took some time to get him house trained, but he is doing very well with it. He chewed a few things in the beginning but he learned really fast that it made me mad. Now he even leaves the shoes alone in the floor at night. He's so great with the kids. He just doesn't realize how big he is and knocks them over when he's running sometimes. He is so gentle I could cry. I am so thankful to have him in my life. Even when he darts out without a leash and takes off, or the fact that I can vacuum and he will lay down in one clean spot for less then two minutes and when he gets up, he leaves another dog behind. And of course there is the fact that after he gets finished at the water bowl, my kitchen floor is turned into one big slobbery puddle. But that's just a day in the life of Bear. He's lovable no matter what mischief he's getting into. We all love him with all our hearts.

First Day Home
I brought my baby home today. We found him in the ad bulletin and I had never heard of a Newfoundland. So I said I would call back after some research. I fell in love with the breed. And I was already a fan of Labs. He is so super smart! He hasn't had one accident in the house so far and he was never house trained before I got him. He has done so well this evening. I can't wait till he settles in and we can start some other training. I just know he will do well. And he's such a teddy bear. Hence the nickname, Bailey Bear. I knew it was possible to love your child with all of your heart the moment you hold them. I never realized that it could happen with a furry, four-legged baby too.
