Howard's Story & Details
I found Howard wandering around Sparks, NV following his nose. I thought for sure he would get hit by a car since he was crossing the street willy-nilly. I drove around with him and could not locate anyone that was looking for him. I brought him home, took a picture and posted it on CriagsList. I also called the pound because I thought for sure he belonged to someone, he was house trained and was obviously very well cared for. The pound came and got him and said they would locate his owner. I called the pound all week, asking "has anyone called or claimed him." After three calls I got the response, "only you, crazy lady." (okay, not really). Anyway, no one ever claimed him. After one week I got a call from the Humane Society stating he was very sweet, very adoptable and would be available that afternoon and was I interested? You bet I was! I went and picked him up on June 28, 2011. They said he was about a year old, so that became his birthday, the day he was adopted into our family. Sadly, the pound and the Humane Society believe that he was dumped by the family either due to financial issues or other reasons. I hope that whomever dumped him gets what they deserve. You do NOT do that to an animal that depends on you for their well-being and care.
