Rufus was an injured puppy picked up by Animal Control. They brought him to the animal hospital where I work as a vet tech. We wrapped his injured leg and loved on him for a couple days then they came back and took him to try and find his family. His family never came for him and the Shelter was going to put him to sleep because of his injured leg. I heard about this and had to go get him. His leg has healed nicely and he's one of the family now.
