Remy's Story & Details
A friends of my husbands said he had a "Black Lab" puppy for us. We already had a black lab, Cooper and thought it would work out perfectly. Upon seeing the little pup it was obvious she was not purebred ( I am not a pet snob and adore all breeds) she was black with white "boots" and markings on her chest and a tiny white spot abover her nose. I was just very curious as to what her mixed breed was. As she grew, it was apparent she was a Border Collie Lab mix. We named her Remy and life wouldn't be quite the same without her. The first year was hard, extremely difficult. She potty trained very quickly and learned to like the kennel quite fast but was a little monster. She chewed the arm off of our leather sofa, the collar off of my husbands lambskin jacket ( he left it on the kennel), ate through our 1/2 bath door, chewed through our wood pedestrian gate, ate several knock-out rose bushes, a custom hot tub cover and countless pairs of expensive shoes. Remy is 2 1/2 now and has outgrown the terrible puppy stage. She is fun, sweet, loving, great with kids, people other dogs and is a wonderful addition to our family. She has much more personality than our lab but is not as hyperactive as a true Border Collie - the perfect mix. She often "charges" attacks the TV but only when an animal is on screen. How she knows the difference is beyond me. I see her head move and tilt as she actually watches a program with us. She loves to snuggle as well and likes to place her paw across my chest and put her head in the crook of my neck. She loves to fetch and swim just like a lab. When she is waiting for me to throw the ball she "hops" forward like a little rabbit. She is very agile and graceful when she runs and can jump 4' -5' in the air to catch the ball. If you have time for an active breed I highly recommend a Borador. She is the perfect size at about 45 pounds. We love her so much!
