A. Maizy N. Grace's Story & Details
Maizy was 1 of 265 dogs in a puppymill that was shut down in the fall of 2008. She was one of the lucky ones that survivied. She weighed 5 lbs, had a broken jaw, & a broken tail from being tied up & force bred. She was unsocialized, traumatized, and physically injured. She was sleeping in a crate piled on other crates in a warehouse...sleeping on wire & drinking from a water bottle. When the mill was closed & she was rescued, she underwent 2 surgeries & foster care for a month. I saw her on line & fell in love. We made the 11 hr round trip to get her. She shook all over. I soon learned she liked chicken & fruit, which helped win her heart over. This little girl is tough, & has recovered from many of her emotional scars. She has learned lots of tricks & does a mini agility course! When I've been ill, she stays by my side, refusing to leave until I'm better. When I had the flu, she would lick my hand until I opened my eyes. I'd open them to see her sweet face laying on my pillow. Then I'd fall back to sleep until she "checked on me" again. She follows me everywhere, always greets me by running & jumping into my arms & washing me with her kisses & then the hug comes! I am working on getting her certified as a therapy/companion dog. She is so smart, sweet, & the most wonderful little fur kid I have ever had! I love my Maizy...not only did I rescue her, but she has rescued me by bringing sunshine and love into my life when I was suffering depression. What a little blessing from God!
