Bear's Story & Details
Bear was brought home as a puppy, and owned for seven years by the same man. Unfortunately, that man did nothing but yell at him. Bear was never socialized properly, and spent most of his time inside being yelled at by his owner. He was rescued by his mommy when he was seven years old, and brought to Halifax, Nova Scotia to live in a large house.. unfortunately, his new family had cats. His new kid helped him learn to live with the cats, though he never liked them. He never really learned to play or play with toys, so he spent most of his time sleeping or going for walks. Bear had kidney failure and was taking pills daily, and the walks were really good for him so he enjoyed them. But his experience as a younger dog left him distrustful of men - he hated men. It took him a long time to warm up to any man. Bear was extremely protective of his women and saved their lives many times in the two years he was with them. He absolutely hated the puppy his women brought home one day, but he put up with her like the good old dog he was. Bear passed away September 6, 2010 from kidney failure and complete paralysis. His women decided to put him to sleep.
