In the middle of a treacherous move, my boyfriend and I discussed the possibility of getting a dog once we got settled. We knew we wanted a smaller intelligent dog and we knew we wanted a rescue so I started with the Petsmart adoption page looking at profiles. I found a profile for a Dachshund named Buddy, but there was no profile picture. "Too bad" I thought, then moved on, but I kept coming back to his profile. I found the website of the rescue organization that found him and finally found a picture. It was love at first sight! He was everything we were looking for, but the timing was awful! We were still in the middle of a move! We decided we would wait a few months, which completely broke my heart. Our decision to wait only lasted a few hours however and a week later he moved in with us!
