Sacha's Story & Details
We found Sacha on a local website for sale when she was 8 weeks old, I was lookin for a pure GSD puppy but my boyfriend Kevin asked me to go look at her! She is 3/4 GSD and 1/4 golden retriever, and was one of a litter of 11. Her mum was a beautiful golden shepherd an her dad was a registered GSD. We met both parents who were beautiful friendly dogs and also met her grandmother (retriever) and a sister from the last litter who were gorgeous. all the pups were different GSD colours, some were grey-sable, others were chocolaty coloured and 3 were black with fawn paws and brows. Sacha chose us really, she sat on my feet wagging and gazing up at me!!! She was one of the smallest of the bunch too but it didnt seem to bother her, she was so friendly and lively!!
Her colouring has changed dramatically since arriving home!! She is now a lovely cream/gold/sable mix, she has a husky-like grey mask over her eyes and as she is also quite fluffy a lot of people have asked dif she has usky in her background, one day a little girl actually asked us if she was 'A real Wolf'!!
I'm so glad we got Sacha, i'm now a huge mix-breed fan, in fact I prefer her being a mix when there is so much in the news in Ireland and the UK about the health risks of purebred dogs. I love knowing her background is so varied.
She thinks she's a retriever, carries herself like a GSD and is a fab guard dog. We have a 3 year old little girl, Leah, and they are best buddies. I would recommend Golden Shepherds as a perfect family dog, but they need lots of exercise and space as they are really energetic!!
