My son wanted us to get another dog, as our two adorable collie crosses had sadly passed away in 2007 and 2008.
I was not sure but he was missing them so much as so was I. He told me he was going to name our new dog Ruby but did not really have any reason why.
I wanted another rescue dog but sadly I was not able to have one because I did not meet the criteria of not working (I only do a few hours a week and not every day)so a rescue dog was out of the question as the only ones available at the time had be neglected quite badly so I reluctantly told my 9 year old son we could not get a dog. He was so upset that I scoured the internet to find a reputable breeder and after a lot of searching found this little puppy who was hundreds of miles away sprung out at me as she was described as a ruby colour - I thought it must be fate so I contacted the breeder who had only just that day advertised the litter. We went to see her the following week and she barely had her eyes open but went over to my son and cuddled up to him - my heart melted and so there was the best 10th birthday present he could have wished for and we are the happy owners of that cute little cavapoo called Ruby. We got regular e-mails from the breeder with photos and when we came to get her my boy was so excited and so was I, she had grown and was so happy to see us. My son and her have been the best of mates ever since, getting her has been the best decision I have made in a long time.
