Xavier's Story & Details
I had no intention of buying a dog the day I found Xavier. My husband and I have been talking for a year about getting a dog, but constantly disagreed on the breed. I wanted a smaller house dog, because of the nature of our home and lifestyle, while he wanted a huge dog, which just would not have had enough room in our home. I passed by a shop window in a flea-market close to our home and saw them sitting in a cage. A brown little girl and this cream colored little boy with tan ears. The little girl seemed the more playful and happy of the two dogs, but somehow this drew me to the boy. He looked so sad and pitiful. It breaks my heart to see animals caged period much less this tiny teddy bear that had already stolen my heart. After seeing the look on my face my Husband agreed to let me hold him and after that it was a wrap, you could say! :) He knew I would never put him down, and I could tell he was already falling as well even though this was the tiny house dog that he didn't want. Two months later, he is our baby! But is a really smart dog. He is so young, but already runs to the door to go out (okay.. MOST of the time) and only wakes during the night if he needs to go out. We love him with all our hearts and don't regret getting one bit, but I too fear that he possibly came from what is called a Puppy Mill. I do not want to support these types of facilities as I hear of their cruelty, but feel lucky as our little Xavier seems to be unscathed and a normal, healthy, happy puppy! I wanted to join this sight to learn more about how to better raise my pup. Thanks to all of you out their who have given a wonderful dog a loving home!
