Sadie the Jack-Tzu

Our little sweetie came to us from our local SPCA branch with only "JRT mix" for her breed. After researching countless mix possibilities, we found that her underbite, fur texture & colour patterns, and behaviour was that of a Shih Tzu. She looks mostly like a coarse-haired JRT -- all white except for black fur around her eyes & part of her nose, a black spot above her tail base, and little black spots on her ears. The fuzzy eyebrows, looong eyelashes, mustache and beard, and big brown eyes bordering on "buggy" looking had to be attributed to the Shih Tzu in her. Sadie's medium-length tail curls up and over her bum, as well, not very terrier-like. She needs regular trimmings on her face, as the fur can get quite long. Her fur appears to be rough and bulky, but she is actually quite smooth and soft.

Her personality is SO hilarious! She loves her squeaker toys and her "sister", an adopted purebred Shiba Inu. Sadie follows her Mum and Dad around the house just to be nosy! Every morning she entertains us with a variety of stretches, rolls, and goes for a "drag" by sticking her hind legs out and pulling herself along the carpet by her front paws, steering with a back foot every few feet or so. It is a RIOT! For a "high-energy" little dog, Sadie only exerts herself when I take her for a run, or if there are birds/squirrels in the yard.

Inside, she is content to wrestle about with her sister, gnaw on a toy, or to just sprawl out and relax!
Sadie sheds an average amount, but we must keep on top of her brushings. In the bath, she is the EASIEST dog to bathe, hands down, bar none. She will just stand in the tub while I soak her down, soap her up, and wash her off. She doesn't try to get away, shake, or lean away from the water. I trim her nails once a week, and after about the first few months she got used to it and now just sits and allows me to clip them.

Definitely, she is not an off-leash dog. She completely ignores comands if there is something to chase and will often jump up to six feet in the air to go after something. Not a big barker on her own, she will yarf a bit if someone knocks on the door, enters our house (if it isn't mum or dad), and will join in with her cousin-dog if there is something to bark about... but that's it!

Sadie loves to do tricks for cookies -- she hops around on her back feet like a ballerina for a treat, or if I am making dinner and she cannot see me over the counter she will jump up and down on her hind legs to get a view!
We just love this little girl to pieces and her personality is a big part of how great she is! We will definitely look into another Jack Tzu when the time comes for another dog.

My darling Cockeranian!

I love my Cockeranian so much! He is the love of my life...he is my main man..he's like my son. His name is "Prince" Scooter, and he is a Prince. I adopted him when he was 3, and now he is 6. I am sooo proud to have him! He is the best little dog ever. He let's me know when something isn't goig right, and he is not afraid to speak(bark) his mind. I don't know what I would do with out my little baby...he is a "Bad" boy, he likes to watch T.V. and listen to Michael Jackson. He is my love....

My Italian Greagle

I was lucky enough to be blessed by a friend of ours. He was shopping at a local store one night, he came out of the store and was getting in his truck when he heard the wimpers of a puppy. He looked in the back of his truck to find a 10 wk old puppy. After not being able to keep her, he brought her to us and I fell in love with her. After taking her to the vet and checking around we found out she was a Italian Greagle. I have found out this breed is very loving, very energetic, and bonds easy with one person. I would not give her up for the world. Through alot of trainng we have taught her where she can go and what is off limits in our yard and do not have to leash her anymore. I have also trained her that STOP means just that and she does it. Sometimes Ok most of the time she listens better than my 2 human children.

Our Foxton

playful and hyper! Little Bit (our 1 1/2 yr old foxton) loves to play ball for hours... He is very smart and easy to train! He is super cuddley and loves to hog the bed! He is brindle and white with very long legs perfect for running very fast! Loves to chew! he only chews on his toys... but they will be gone or in pieces very quickly! doesn't like water much but has webbed toes... so i think he would be good at swimming if he relaxed a bit... very patient, has been great with kids and other dogs and cats... very much a people pleaser and loves tons of attention! He is a ball to have around! he does shed a bit but it is very short fur and we hardly notice especially with our cats! he can do all sorts of tricks! loves his treats and food but never posessive! i don't know what else to say but he is a great dog! no big health problems that we know of yet... :)

The Chi-Chon

I have an adorable Chi-Chon - she is bundle of fluff and fun and is loving and gentle natured. She likes to be near you and loves nothing more that sleeping at my feet. She is very good with young children too. She doesn't bark but does make herself heard when left in the crate. House-training is taking a while but that is to be expected due to her breed heritage. Her nature is much softer and less agressive and she is sweet baby.
