Schneagle
The schneagle is a very good little guard dog. They can hear people and animals from a mile away, and will not quit barking until they figure out what's going on. (especially if the doorbell rings) The schneagle is very submissive to other dogs. (from my experience) The schneagle is very smart and seems to know exactly whats going on. Example: when you put shoes on or when you put him in the car.

Our family accedently ran across a scheagle pup less than a yr ago. (I had never heard of them.) Mom had an unusual liter of 8. Long story short, mom couldn't handle all her pups & our pup (boots) was severly neglegted by mom. We saved her @ 6 wks, brought her back around. Now only 8 months later she is the most fun, loving dog i've ever owned in my life. My children, friends & family can't get enough of her. She makes our life complete with her energy & way of clowning around, not to mention her love. I recomend this breed 100% and will never own another!!!!

Seventeen years ago, I adopted two schneagles from the animal shelter. Back then they weren't considered "designer dogs." They lived to be 17 years old and were very healthy. Most importantly, they were so loving!
My experience with this breed is that they love to love you. They need consisently affection, but aren't clingy. They enjoy being inside with the family. You'll need to vacuum hair quite frequently. Behaviors. They act like puppies (mischevious) until 3 years old and need consistent guideance. Be patient. VERY IMPORTANT is that they will try to sneak away due to the strong sense of smell. Even if you have a fence... keep your eye them so they'll be safe. A micro-chip is a very good idea! I don't know that an underground fence would've contained. My heart is still broken since they're gone! My next dogs will be sneagles. I'll definately get two because they love companionship!
