I just want to state that I am so happy that I have a beautiful, friendly, and loving borador named Nickolas. He was born on Christmas Day and he will be two years old this coming Christmas. He loves Gizmoe, Tigerlilly and his pal Joey and they are cats. Nickolas will break up his dog bones for Joey so he can help him eat them. I went to purchase a Labordoddle and thought I had purchased one but I purchased Nickolas and that was the best thing that had happen to me and my family. We are still working on walking together because he just wants everyone to love him when are out walking around the neighborhood.

We bought a puppy 10 days ago, for my 18th birthday and it was one of the best decisions we could have made. We got our little puppy when he was 7 weeks old. He had been taken from the litter early and in those 7 weeks of his life, he had been to three homes, our's is the fourth and last home he will be in. This puppy left mum at 6 weeks and was given to a lady as a gift from her fiance, the lady's whippet took exception to the new pup and attacked him. Another lady took the dog, with no intention of keeping it, but just to get it out of a bad situation, we saw her ad and went to see him, and that's how we fell in love. We looked online for information on labs x border collie and found an article on Boradors and the description was an uncanny resemblance to our little pup scout. The long legs, floppy ears, black fur, the white blaze on his chest... everything. The day we brought him home he used the toilet outside and has continued to do so, whining at the door when he needs to go. He is a chewer so I highly recommend supplying him with lots of toys or else your slippers will get a seeing to. He is a very friendly dog and loves to meet new people, and will wear himself out trying to get strokes from all the guests. He has huge bursts of energy then will sleep for an hour and do it again. He can get stroppy when he is tired or over excited so the best thing to do is ignore him and wait for him to calm down, these dogs crave attention and taking it away is a punishment for them. Our puppy is not old enough to go for walks but these dogs need mental stimulation as well as just a walk. Try a game of hide and seek. As with all cross breeds, you don't know what you will get, you could get the worst of both breeds. We were fortunate. Always do research and don't be conned into paying £100s of pounds for a mix breed, because at the end of the day, they are not a pedigree so you have no idea what the cute puppy will grow into. We got our borador from a rescue shelter, she is about three years old. At first we were not sure what she was. I stumbled on a web site talking about boradors she fits the description to a T, the strange habits watching TV hording the family into one room she has been nothing but a joy for the family. A very smart dog she knows when she has done something wrong like chew a shoe or a sock. Very playful and desires attention all the time good with adults as well as kids.

Our Border Collie/ Lab mix Remy is truly an amazing girl. She has brought so much joy to our family and she has such a fun, unique personality. When we adopted her she was about 9 weeks old and were told she was a full blooded lab . Not that I am a pet snob but one look at her black coat with white markings on her chest and " boots" I knew she was a mix. As she grew up, it was obvious she is lab border collie. She was very destructive as a pup ( destroyed a sofa, lambskin jacket, ate through a bathroom door, can manuever out of a metal kennel/ crate). After the " puppy stage " she has become one of the best dogs I have ever had. We have a male black lab, Cooper, that is 4 and Remy is 2 1/2. They are inseperable. She has a sweet disposition and great temperment. She does charge the gate/ fence when walkers or other dogs come around and is very protective of our yard. She likes to watch TV and can decipher when a dog or animal is on the screen and charges at the screen. Her hair raises from her neck to tail and she s fierce. It is very funny and amazes me how she can tell the difference. Remy is super active and loves to fetch and " herd". She gets along great with small breeds and is very popular at our neighborhood dog park. She doesn't get along with all dogs but is not an aggressor. We have a cat also and they get along very well, even snuggle together at times. If you can stand a really crazy puppy stage and have the time to devote to daily exercise I would highly recommend this breed. We love our girl and she is truly " one of a kind". She resembles a lab ( most people assume Cooper and her are siblings) but when you study her she has a slight ruffle or feathering on her left ear that crooks up, white markings with black spots and her eyes are shaped like a border collies. She loves to swim anywhere, including our hot tub. She has the best traits of both breeds and a phenomenal personality.

Yoda, also known as The Dodo, was a gift from my Fiance about 5 years ago, our first valentines day living together. Now we are happily married. I don't recommend giving dogs as gifts. But in this particular case it all worked out beautifully.

The Dodo, was 4 months old adopted from a shelter. (I only do rescues when it comes to pets.) At the time we lived on a farm in MB. This dog, has saved the life of our maltese with his non biological brethren on the farm when she got grabbed by a coyote on one of our dog walks. This dog has also put himself between my body and 4 men with guns shouting sexual crap at me out in the middle of nowhere where no one would have known where to find my body. Somehow, we are both still here because he scared those men off.

These dogs are highly intelligent. Kind and gentle, slap happy and the furthest thing from stupid you will ever find. M husband holds a PhD in theoretical physics. Yet, it is Yoda, that sits beside me on the couch now. He has once again conned my husband out of his spot and has taken it over himself. Hows that for intelligent? He is trained he high fives shakes sits comes lays down stays waits to eat on command goes to his bed during dinner and waits politely for us to finish and plays gently with our new chorkie puppy.

He sleeps with us at night and is not bi on barking. However he makes all kinds of odd noises and is extremely communicative. A whisperer once told us we talk to him so much he is trying to verbalize back to us to communicate since he has realized that that is how we communicate.

He follows us around the house, is extremely protective of me. I believe this dog would kill for me or get killed for me if necesary. I believe this, because i have watched him put his body between me and very real danger. He bit no one that day and growled at everyone. They were drunk and easily frightened off. I can honestly say this breed of dog is brave and are willing to save your life at the cost of their own if necesary.

He makes Lassie look weak and pathetic.

His tail wags constantly and he licks often. He is very loving. He is a 70 lb lap dog, literally. His favorite place to sit or lie is on a human lap on the sofa.

These are fantastic dogs. Everyone should have one.

We obtained our Borador, Ollie, last December when a friends border collie got loose and the next door chocolate lab introduced himself.

He weighs in at 66.4 pounds and requires exercise. He is extremely affectionate and make friends with other dogs immediately. He is not intimidated by larger dogs, but he is skittish around unexpected movement such as s tick in the water. He loves the ocean, ponds, and beaches where he can let it all out with running.

I had pure bred dogs in the past, but I believe the mixed breed to be superior by its inheritance of the good traits of its mixed parentage.

I would unequivocally recommend this type breed to anyone.
